Glucosamine

Glucosamine Sulphate is a compound that occurs naturglucosamine imageally and has no major side effects*. It has been found to relieve pain and to have structural benefits in those suffering from Osteoarthritis. It has also been shown to have a role in the prevention of joint damage in sports players with knee injuries, as it is taken up and incorporated into articular cartilage.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar used by the body for the construction of connective tissue and healthy cartilage. It is the critical building block for large protein molecules that act like a sponge to hold water giving connective tissues elasticity and cushioning effects. This also provides a buffering action to help protect against excessive wear and tear of the joints.

Without glucosamine, our tendons, ligaments, skin, nails, bones, mucous membranes, and other body tissues canninflamed knee jointot form properly.

The subsequent reduction in pain from taking Glucosamine Sulphate should be noticed after 3 – 8 weeks of use.

As glucosamine is often produced from shellfish, those with shellfish allergy should consult their doctor before taking this medication. Diabetics or those taking blood thinning warfarin medications should also consult with their doctor before taking glucosamine, or when changing their dosage.
