Andrew MacDonald

Physiotherapist

Andrew is a passionate physiotherapist who brings a wealth of international experience and a patient-centred approach to his practice. Originally from Perth and now based in Melbourne, Andrew graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2016 and has since worked extensively across Australia and the United Kingdom.

Prior to relocating to Melbourne in 2024, Andrew spent more than four years in London, working within some of the UK's largest and most respected hospitals and National Health Service (NHS) trusts, including St Thomas’ Hospital and Guy’s Hospital. During this time, he gained broad experience managing a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions and developed advanced clinical skills across multiple physiotherapy specialties, including orthopaedics, intensive care, long COVID rehabilitation and balance disorders.

Andrew has worked closely with semi-professional and professional athletes across a variety of sporting disciplines, as well as performing artists. Through this experience, he developed a particular interest in running-related injuries, lower limb overuse conditions, and hip and groin pain. He enjoys helping active individuals return to the activities they love, whether that be running, sport, work or everyday life.

Committed to evidence-based practice, Andrew combines exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, dry needling and patient education to deliver personalised treatment plans. He believes in empowering patients through a collaborative approach, helping them understand their condition and build the confidence to manage their recovery and long-term health.

Andrew enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and has a particular interest in:

• Running injuries
• Hip and groin pain
• Lower limb overuse injuries
• Sporting injuries
• Orthopaedic rehabilitation

Outside of the clinic, Andrew enjoys hiking, camping, exploring Melbourne’s vibrant food scene, playing basketball and travelling. His active lifestyle reinforces his belief in the importance of movement, physical activity and overall wellbeing.
