What is soft tissue therapy?
Soft tissue therapists use manual therapies to treat aches and pains and include sports & remedial massage therapists. Your session will often begin with a biomechanical analysis of your movement to asses any dysfunction that may be causing you pain.
So why should I see a sports & remedial massage therapist?
The positive effects of massage therapy are well documented. It can provide pain relief, relaxation and improve muscle performance. It is this reason that sports and remedial massage therapy can be an effective treatment to manage and improve function. Our sports & remedial massage therapist has additional training in dry needling and enjoys years of experience in working with elite athletes. For this reason, they can couple massage therapy with other additional evidenced based treatments to provide treatment, management and assessment of musculoskeletal conditions, treating the source of pain instead of providing only temporary relief.
So when should you see a sports & remedial massage therapist?
Most people seek massage treatment when they are experiencing pain or discomfort, although some utilise sports & remedial massage as an injury prevention strategy. It is particularly important to see your soft tissue therapist if you are experiencing restricted movement or pain that lasts for more then a few days.
